Option 9
The Kentucky State University School of Education, is excited to be offering an Option 9 program to students seeking certification in Elementary Education with an opportunity to receive a certificate in STEM or IECE (Special Education).
The program is designed to prepare leaders to respond effectively to the unique opportunities in urban and rural elementary school settings. The program is geared towards developing a “Grow your Own” workforce with job-embedded support, that impacts student learning and produces strategies for participants to implement once in the field as the lead teacher.
The program is completely online and takes 3 years to complete with the third year being primarily focused on residency (Student Teaching). The program will be fast paced and rigorous, but will also include the needed supports of the institution, program and school district.
