Student Support Services

Greetings Perspective SSS Participant,

The Student Support Services (SSS) at Kentucky State University is excited to provide academic and personal support services for the students here at the University. The ideology behind the program is the dismantlement of barrier that might prevent you from persisting through to graduation. These barriers can range from financial, personal, academic, physical and mental. The program strives to provide intentional opportunities to students so success becomes the only option!

Student Support Services is a TRIO program funded under Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965. TRIO programs are devoted to helping students meet their educational goals through programs and services. These programs are funded by the U.S. Department of Education through grants provided to institutions or agencies delivering the prescribed assistance.

Kentucky State University’s Student Support Services program will identify, select, and serve one hundred forty (145) first-generation, income-eligible, and/or disabled college students, who are enrolled or accepted for enrollment at Kentucky State University. SSS staff collaborates with relative faculty as well as various academic and student services departments to create a University climate that promotes student success, retention and persistence towards postsecondary degree.

Success becomes reality for those who are selected for participation and who are willing to dedicate themselves to hard work. Here is a list of some of activities and services to look forward to as a participant of Student Support Services:
