We want to protect the University’s greatest asset: you.
BRED Alerts is Kentucky State University’s emergency notification system. During an emergency or when campus conditions affect class and work schedules, the University sends time-sensitive alerts to help students, employees, and the broader Kentucky State community stay informed.
Option 1: Students, faculty, and staff with a kysu.edu email address
All Kentucky State University students, faculty, and staff should ensure they have an active profile in the BRED Alerts platform. Please confirm your profile and contact methods so you can receive alerts through the delivery methods you prefer.
Log in, register, confirm, or activate your account here: https://getrave.com/login/kysu
If you do not have an active account:

Click Register in the upper right-hand corner.

Enter your information using your @kysu.edu email address.

Confirm your profile through your email account.
Once confirmed, you can add and manage additional contact methods, including cell phone, home phone/voice, and non-university email addresses, as needed.

Option 2: SMS opt-in for those without a kysu.edu email address
Do not have a Kentucky State University email address? You can still receive BRED Alerts by text message. Thorobred family members, caregivers, and emergency contacts, along with community members, vendors, visitors, and others without a kysu.edu email address, can subscribe using SMS opt-in.

How alerts are delivered
In the case of an on-campus emergency or important notification, all active users in the system will receive an alert message.
