Family and Consumer Sciences focuses holistically on the well-being of people from the cradle to the grave. Kentucky State University offers outreach and education in four priority areas: Community Health; Nutrition; Family Well-Being; and Financial Management. The priority areas’ goals include improving the overall public health conditions of individuals, families and communities through initiatives promoting healthy lifestyles; encouraging healthy nutritional practices and physical activity; helping build stronger communities by emphasizing family well-being for every member of the family; and providing financial resources and guidance to families so they can better manage their money.
