Cultivars

Several cultivars of pawpaw were advertised in early nursery catalogs. Many of these have since been lost. Other names that appear in the literature are “superior” trees found in individuals’ yards. Usually these have been distributed among very few persons. The author has assembled 62 cultivar names from the literature (Table 3). Today, only a few are commercially available and are typically sold in limited quantities (see Appendix for suppliers).
