Business Certificate Programs
The School of Business and Technology offers a certificate program in Entrepreneurship.
Certificate in Entrepreneurship
The Entrepreneurship Certificate program is designed to promote an understanding of
entrepreneurial thinking skills, creativity, and self-reliance values through experiential
learning experiences. Students will learn how to start and grow business for profitability.
Students pursuing Entrepreneurship Certificate program are required to complete the
following courses:
- ACC 201 – Principles of Accounting 1
- BUA 321 – Legal Environment (if BUA 321 is not offered when needed, a substitution will be identified)
- MKT 301 – Principles in Marketing
- MGT 301 – Principles in Management
- MGT 465 – Entrepreneurship
Total: 15 credit hours
Upon completion of the course, students will be able to:
- Develop business modeling to compare and contrast ideas for successful management.
- Conduct feasibility analysis and draw accurate conclusions regarding probability of success.
- Create pro-forma financial statements and marketing plans.
- Understand legal, regulatory, and ethical issues entrepreneurs face.
Eligibility
- This certificate program is open to all currently enrolled undergraduate degree-seeking KSU students.
- Post-baccalaureate non-degree seeking students.
- Individuals with associate degree, business experience, and preapproval of the School of Business and Technology.
- Non-current KSU student must first complete the non-degree seeking application form and be admitted.
