Eligibility & Application Process
Eligibility
Student Support Services (SSS) is a federally funded TRIO program that supports students in achieving academic success and graduation. To qualify for participation in the SSS program, students must:

- Be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, U.S. national, or provide documentation indicating intent to become a permanent resident,
- Be currently enrolled or accepted for enrollment at the university, and
- Demonstrate an academic need for support services.
In addition, students must meet at least one of the following eligibility criteria:

- First-Generation College Student: Neither parent or legal guardian has earned a four-year college degree,
- Income-Eligible: Meets federal low-income guidelines (students who receive federal financial aid often qualify), or
- Documented Disability: Has a physical, psychological, or learning disability that is officially documented.

Scholar Expectations
Students accepted into SSS are expected to:

Maintain full-time enrollment with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.

Meet with their assigned SSS counselor twice per semester (or as scheduled).

Notify the SSS office of any changes to name, address, phone number, or other demographic/contact information, including tutoring received outside of SSS.

Seek tutoring immediately upon experiencing difficulty in any enrolled class.

Participate in SSS-sponsored workshops and activities each semester.

Attend tutoring sessions if any of the following apply:

Cumulative GPA falls below 2.5

A grade of “C” or lower is received on any assignment or course

Application Process
To apply, students must complete the following steps:

Complete the SSS application packet.

Submit the following required documents:
-
Unofficial transcript (must include ACT/SAT scores)

Current class schedule
-
Financial aid award letter
-
Proof of insurance (private or student health)

Letter from the Office of Disability Resource Services (if applicable)

Application review will be conducted by an SSS Counselor or the Program Director.

Interview with an SSS Counselor or the Program Director.

If accepted, students will receive an acceptance email within two weeks of completing the process.
