Major: Criminal Justice

Why Kentucky State?

I chose Kentucky State because it has such a wonderful family community and such a rich history. I also love that it’s an HBCU. I went to a predominantly white high school where I felt alienated and out of touch; so, being here at K-State makes me feel like I actually belong.

What is your major and why did you choose this area of study?

I chose to major in criminal justice because growing up I felt like the system had really failed a lot of my friends and family. I believe that being an attorney is the best way to help fix the system.

Who inspires you and why?

My younger sister inspires me to work hard to reach my full potential; my friends inspire me to be persistent.

What do you plan to do when you graduate?

After I graduate, I will go to law school. When I finally get my masters, I want to do some paralegal work before I really get into a courtroom. My ultimate goal is to one day be a Supreme Court justice.
