Employee Profile - Dr. Keturah C. Nix

Name: Keturah C. Nix, Ph.D. 

Position: Assistant Professor of English 

How long have you been employed at Kentucky State? I have been at Kentucky State since the fall semester of 2020. 

What do you enjoy most about your role? What I enjoy most about my role is the ability to engage with students through teaching and mentorship, and also collaborate with my colleagues on meaningful projects that advance the humanities.  

What has been one of your favorite moments at Kentucky State? One of my favorite moments so far has been the Fall 2020 Founder’s Day Convocation. I truly enjoyed witnessing the excitement of all the graduating students who were not able to walk across the stage and participate in spring commencement because of the COVID-19 interruptions.   

What do you enjoy doing when you're not working? When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, traveling, taking pictures, journaling, cooking and watching YouTube videos. 

What is one thing you couldn't live without? I couldn’t live without my faith and belief in God’s sovereignty.   

A fun fact about me is… A fun fact about me is that one of my bucket list items is to visit all 50 U.S. states, and I am over halfway there.
