PROJECT UPDATES

Construction is on or ahead of schedule for the new residence hall slated for completion in December 2022. The Kentucky State University Board of Regents heard from Craig Turner, founder and CEO of CRM Companies, during its regular quarterly meeting Dec. 2. Turner said the timing of the sale of the bonds were great, with a market bullish on higher education. Timing was also great regarding construction costs, which he estimated would be $8-$10 million higher if the project began now. Board of Regents Chair Dr. Elaine Farris indicated she would like a groundbreaking ceremony involving students in the spring to celebrate and showcase the much-needed addition to campus.
