Spring 2019 Commencement Convocation

Friday, May 10

9 a.m.

Carl H. Smith Auditorium in David H. Bradford Hall

Students:

  • Please arrive at 7 a.m. in your regalia.
  • Parking will be available in the upper ASB lot on a first-come-first-serve basis.
  • Golf cart shuttles will be provided from off-campus parking locations to William Exum Center.
  • Enter William Exum Center through the front entrance and report to the designated area.
  • Bring with you your name card, honors name card and photo card (completed).
  • Prepare to line up with your college according to your academic major.
  • Form a single file line for processional into the gymnasium.
  • The procession will start promptly at 8:45 a.m.
  • Listen to the direction of the appointed marshal and follow them into the gym as directed.
  • Light refreshments will be provided for you to consume prior to the processional.

Faculty: 

  • Please arrive at 7:30 a.m. in your regalia.
  • General parking will be available on a first-come-first-served basis.
  • Report to the designated area.
  • Hostesses will be available to direct you and answer any questions.
  • Golf cart shuttles will be provided from off-campus parking locations to the William Exum Center.
  • Enter William Exum Center  through the front entrance and report to the designated area.
  • Form a single file line for processional into the auditorium.
  • Procession will start promptly at 8:45 a.m.
  • Listen to the direction of the appointed marshal and follow them into the gym as directed.
  • Light refreshments will be provided for you to consume prior to the processional.

Guests, community and general public:

  PARKING – On-campus and off-campus

  • On-campus parking will be available on a first-come-first-serve basis.
  • For on-campus parking, golf carts will be used to assist guests in getting from the lots to the William Exum Center.
  • The parking at the campus ASB building is a reserved lot for students only.
  • Off-campus parking will be available in the parking lot of the Cabinet for Health and Family Services located at 275 East Main Street, Frankfort, Kentucky, across the street from the campus.
  • The City of Frankfort will provide shuttle buses from the off-campus lot to Bradford Hall with drop-offs to and from Bradford Hall from 7:30 a.m. until noon.
  • Doors open to the public at the William Exum Center, with access available through the front entrance doors, beginning at 7 a.m.
  • Enter William Exum Center through the front entrance.
  • Seating is available on a first-come-first-serve basis
  • Handicapped seating will be available on the main floor area and hostesses will provide directions.
  • Ceremonies will be live-streamed via the internet.

OVERFLOW LOCATION – The Little Theater in David H. Bradford Hall

FIRST AID STATION – Will be available and staffed by Kentucky State University nursing faculty and staff

WATER STATION – Will be available via self-serve water dispenser and cups provided
