Library Quick Guide

Library Hours (Fall and Spring):   Monday – Friday 8 am -12 midnight; Saturday 1 pm – 12 midnight; Sunday 2 pm-12 midnight.

Circulation Desk:  Once you enter the Library the Circulation Desk will be to your left.  This is where you check out books, laptops, and access course reserves.  You will need a valid KSU ID card to check out materials from the Library.  The Circulation staff will be glad to share other services they render. Reference Desk: This desk is staffed with professional librarians, who are ever eager to help you with your academic research, information needs and using our numerous resources and services.  The desk is located on the main floor of the Library.  Visit us at the reference desk for on the spot instructions or call us at 502.597.6857.

Periodicals: Blazer Library has numerous print periodicals including newspapers, magazines, journals etc.  The Periodicals area is located on the main floor of the Library towards the left from the public computer area.  You will use your KSU ID card to use the Xerox copier/printer located in Periodicals.

Online Databases: Find fulltext online articles at http://kysu.edu/academics/library/resources-and-more/library-databases/.  You can also access this via the Library’s Homepage.

Library Catalog:  Find books, articles, ebooks, etc., using our new WorldCat Discovery service at https://kysu.on.worldcat.org/discovery.  You will need to use your KSU ID number and create your own unique password to access fulltext resources.  Note that you can also access the Library Catalog via the Library’s Homepage.

Blackboard Library Instruction:  This is a self-paced instruction that teaches you how to use our Library resources and become information literate.  For assistance email nkechi.amadife@kysu.edu.  Log on to Blackboard and click on – Information Literacy Fall 2015 to begin.

Study Rooms:  Use any of our study rooms inside the Library.  Study tables are available throughout the Library for your use.  There are also comfortable sofas and chairs available throughout the Library where you can “chill” in between classes.

Extended Study Room:   Open 24/7.  You will need to swipe your activated KSU ID card to enter the room.  A snack and drink machine and restrooms are available here. This room is located straight ahead, past the main entrance of the Library.
