You’ve come to the right place! Our Internship Program gives students the opportunity to work directly with development teams and business operations departments to gain hands-on experience.  For 12 paid weeks every summer, interns embed themselves with our teams to learn, collaborate, and contribute to the intensity and fun of creating epic entertainment.


DHS Cybersecurity Internship Program

DEADLINE/CLOSING DATE: 1-June-2017

The DHS Cybersecurity Internship Program is specifically designed to provide graduate students interested in cybersecurity an opportunity to apply educational instruction to real-life cyber challenges and expose students to the unique cybersecurity careers available at DHS. Through this experience students will learn about the DHS cybersecurity mission by completing hands-on cybersecurity work.

Participating DHS Components include: Customs and Border Protection (CBP) – Office of Information and Technology (OIT); DHS Headquarters – Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO); Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)-Office of Chief Information Officer (OCIO); National Protection and Programs Directorate (NPPD); Office of Intelligence and Analysis (I&A) – Cyber Division; United States Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS) – Office of Information and Technology (OIT); United States Coast Guard (USCG); and United States Secret Service (USSS).

Requirements:
– U. S. Citizenship is required
– Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for Selective Service
– Successfully pass a background investigation
– Must be able to obtain a Security Clearance
– Must submit to a pre-employment drug test

Qualifications:
GS-9: Completion of 2 academic years of graduate level education, or a master’s degree or equivalent graduate degree.

—OR—
One year of specialized experience at the GS-07 grade level that demonstrates experience in intelligence analysis; threat analysis and/or risk assessment; drafting and producing all-source intelligence products; analyzing cyber intelligence methods and tools; and monitoring and evaluating all-source intelligence information to identify cyber threats.
—OR—
A combination of successfully completed graduate level education and specialized experience as described above. This will be calculated using your resume and unofficial transcripts or a list of courses/course hours submitted with your application. NOTE: Only graduate education in excess of the first year may be used to qualify for the GS-09 level

GS-11
Completion of all requirements for a PhD or equivalent degree.

One year of specialized experience at the GS-9 level that demonstrates experience in a intelligence analysis; threat analysis and/or risk assessment; drafting and producing all-source intelligence products; preparing all-source cyber intelligence analysis briefing; analyzing cyber intelligence methods and tools; and monitoring and evaluating all-source intelligence information to identify cyber threats.

As a Student Trainee (Information Technology) GS 2299 9/11, your typical work assignments may include the following under supervision:
GS-9

  • Conducts risk assessments to identify possible security violations by analyzing computer assets and establishing security requirements based on possible countermeasures to achieve an optimum level of security.
  • Executes and analyzes computer security plans and assist with access control techniques such trusted routers, gateways, or firewalls.
  • Assists in developing contingency plans designed for computer security emergency response, backup, and recovery operations.
  • Implements procedures to ensure protection of information transmitted to the organization, among internal organizations, and from the organization on local or wide area networks, the world-wide-web, or other communications modes.
  • Utilizes security products to provide data integrity, confidentiality, authentication, non-repudiation, and access control of the network.

GS-11

  • Applies Information Technology (IT) security principles, methods, and security products to pto protect and maintain the availability, integrity, confidentiality, and accountability of information system resources and information processed throughout the system’s life cycle.
  • Evaluates, assess, or locally tests and approves hardware, software, and firmware products.
  • Continuously identifies and analyzes threats and vulnerabilities to the information systems to maintain an appropriate level of protection.
  • Utilizes current and future multi-level security products collectively to provide data integrity, confidentiality, authentication, non-repudiation, and access control of the network.
  • Reports all incidents involving viruses, tampering, or unauthorized system entry to appropriate authority.

May be eligible for a non-competitive conversion to a career or career-conditional or TERM (for up to four years) appointment, upon completion of the student’s academic degree program and 640 hours of work related experience.

* Student Trainee (Intelligence Research)
As a Student Trainee (Intelligence Research) GS 0199 9/11, your typical work assignments may include the following under supervision:
GS-9

  • Drafts, coordinates, and produces all-source intelligence products for review.
  • Monitors and evaluates all-source intelligence information to identify potential cyber threats to the Homeland.
  • Maintains partnerships and collaborates with analytic counterparts throughout the Intelligence Community (IC), and with DHS Components and other federal, state, and local officials and private sector owners and operators of critical infrastructure.

  • Produces intelligence products to support planning and execution of policies and programs that enhance defense, mitigation, and resiliency against cyber threats.
  • Prepares all-source cyber intelligence analysis briefing.
  • Identifies innovative solutions to improve judgments of adversary intent and capability and opportunity analysis and identify reliable indicators of future activity.

Institute for Advanced Composite Manufacturing Innovation (IACMI) Summer Internships

The Institute for Advanced Composite Manufacturing Innovation (IACMI) has launched a new summer internship program for undergraduate and graduate students interested in learning more about advanced composites technologies to aid in the creation of low-cost and energy-efficient manufacturing. Program participants will receive a weekly stipend ($600 for undergraduates, and $750 for graduate students) for the duration of the program, a housing allowance up to $175 weekly, and travel limited expenses to-and-from the internship site.
