Civic Engagement
Civic engagement can be defined as “working to make a difference in the civic life
of our communities and developing the combination of knowledge, skills, values and
motivation to make that difference. It means promoting the quality of life in a community,
through both political and non-political processes.”
In an age of information overload, it is more important than ever that KSU students be educated and trained to think critically and be actively engaged with issues affecting public life. The Office of Regional Stewardship sponsors and develops programs that promote civic health issues in our community such as voter registration, local, state and national candidate forums, constitutional issues in the headlines, social justice, environmental concerns, internships in local and state political offices and educational access.
