Listed below are some of the frequently asked questions about Health Services at Kentucky State University. Please contact the clinic directly if you have specific questions not mentioned in this FAQ.

Does the clinic give flu shots?

Yes, however only on a first come first served basis.

Does the clinic manage high blood pressure or diabetes?

No, however we do provide monitoring for the students' primary care provider.

Does the clinic treat asthmatic conditions?

Yes.

Does the clinic provide referrals for specialists?

Yes.

Does the clinic provide free medication for certain treatment(s)?

Yes, antibiotics only for STI treatment, and some over-the-counter medications for cold and flu.

Does the clinic provide referrals for emergency dental care?

Yes.

Does the clinic provide dental care?

No.

Does the clinic provide STI screenings?

Yes.

Does the clinic screen for pregnancy?

Yes.

Does the clinic administer allergy injections?

Yes, student must provide instructions and medication from treating physician.

Is there a doctor in the clinic each day?

No. The clinic is staffed by a board certified Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN).

Does the clinic provide immunizations?

No.

Do you need an appointment and what are the hours of service?

Yes. Students may call extension 6271 or use the online web portal to schedule an appointment. The APRN is available Monday - Thursday, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM and Friday, 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM.

Can all KSU students receive services at the clinic?

Yes.

Are the clinic services free?

Yes, to enrolled KSU students.

Does the clinic provide x-rays?
No.
 
Does the clinic provide stitches or sutures?
No, but we do remove sutures and staples.
