Ag Roundup Day 2 Recap & Day 3 Preview
Kentucky State University proudly continued with its Third Annual Ag Roundup with
Day Two's activities across the campus on Friday, September 5, 2025.
Nearly 3,400 attendees — including middle and high school students, KSU scholars,
community members, alumni, faculty, staff, producers, and leaders from across the
Commonwealth — came to campus to celebrate and experience KSU’s land-grant mission
and service to agriculture.
The day began with an agriculture symposium in Exum Gym, where guests learned about
Kentucky State University's programs, research, and career pathways in agriculture,
health, and natural resources.
A highlight of the morning was a special keynote by Warren Beeler, Kentucky's Deputy
Commissioner of Agriculture, who spoke to more than 1,000 middle and high school students
and educators about the opportunities, impact, and the bright future of Kentucky agriculture.
His message inspired the next generation of agricultural leaders to embrace innovation
while honoring the Commonwealth’s strong farming heritage.
Following the symposium, the campus transformed into a festival-style showcase stretching
from the Student Center to Blazer Library. Visitors enjoyed a variety of engaging
and hands-on activities designed to bring agriculture to life. Highlights included:
• Live animal exhibits, where guests interacted with goats and chickens, connecting
students and families directly with KSU’s teaching herds and flocks.
• Drone demonstrations, showcasing how technology is transforming modern agriculture,
from farmland evaluation to precision resource management.
• Aquaculture production displays, highlighting KSU’s national leadership in aquatic
agriculture research.
• Mobile Health Units, offering health awareness and resources to the community including
food as medicine.
• Mobile Disaster Response displays, demonstrating how KSU equips communities to prepare
for and respond to emergencies.
• Free food and fair-like activities, thanks to the support of generous partners,
funders, and vendors.

The finale of Ag Roundup will give participants a chance to experience life as a Thorobred. Visitors can meet agriculture professionals, explore academic programs, and take part in guided campus tours from 10am to noon at Bradford Hall.
The day also includes a tailgate cookout from noon to 2pm filled with food, fun, and fellowship before culminating in free admission for students to the KSU football game at Alumni Stadium. Your Thorobreds, fresh off their win in Ford Field in Detroit, will take on Albany State at 2pm. Those who need the campus map can find it here.

Celebrating Partnership and Impact
Ag Roundup exemplifies the power of collaboration, innovation, and education at the heart of KSU’s land-grant legacy. This day would not have been possible without the dedication of our partners and funders, whose support ensures Kentucky State University continues to serve the people of the Commonwealth through research, extension, and education.
Together, we inspire future generations, strengthened community connections, and showcase the incredible role of agriculture in shaping Kentucky’s future.
Ag Roundup is an annual, three-day agricultural showcase organized by the College of Agriculture, Health, and Natural Resources at Kentucky State University (KSU) in Frankfort, Kentucky. Its goal is to highlight KSU’s impact in agriculture and STEM fields, while providing rich networking, educational, and experiential opportunities for students and the community. The VIP tent has an open bar for all ticket holders. Attendees under 21 will not be permitted into the bar area.
