KSU’s Dr. Amanda Fickey Invited to Exclusive National Symposium on Entrepreneurship Education at UVA Darden School of Business
Dr. Amanda Fickey, Associate Director of Research, Development, and Partnerships at Kentucky State University’s (KSU) Center for Economic Education and Financial Literacy, has been selected to attend an invitation-only national symposium for entrepreneurship educators at the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business in Charlottesville, VA.
The event, titled “Reimagining Entrepreneurship Education,” is organized by the Batten Institute for Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Technology and will bring together leading entrepreneurship scholars from across the United States. The symposium will be led by Professor Saras Sarasvathy, a renowned expert on the cognitive foundations of high-performance entrepreneurship and creator of the CAVE (Causal, Adaptive, Visionary, Effectual) framework which provides methods to help entrepreneurs navigate the uncertainty inherent in venture creation. In addition to the invitation to the symposium, Dr. Fickey’s participation costs have been covered by the Batten Institute.
“I am very grateful for the invitation to participate in this symposium at Darden,” said Dr. Fickey. “Throughout my career, I’ve worked closely with entrepreneurs across Kentucky, and I’m especially excited for the opportunity to learn from Professor Sarasvathy and explore new approaches to entrepreneurial education.”
Dr. Fickey’s selection for this national symposium underscores the impact of her work and her emerging leadership in the field of entrepreneurship education.
Dr. Gary Stratton, Interim Chair of KSU’s School of Business, emphasized the broader significance of Dr. Fickey’s participation: “We’re proud that Dr. Fickey has received this prestigious, funded invitation. It reflects the growing momentum around entrepreneurship at KSU.”
