Kentucky State University received grant money for STEM workforce project

Kentucky State University recently received continued funding from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to support a project that prepares students from underserved communities for the STEM workforce. 

Kentucky State University will receive full funding of $1.25 million over the next four years to fund a proposal with innovative teaching, research, student support and pedagogical practices to prepare students from underserved communities for a future in the STEM workforce, according to Dr. Buddhi Raj Gyawali, associate professor of geospatial applications and human dimensions of the environment. 

Gyawali will serve as principal investigator of the grant, while Dr. Chi Shen, Dr. Kirk Pomper, Dr. Jyotica Batra and Dr. Fariba Bigdeli-Jahed will serve as co-principal investigators.
