Kentucky State University professor part of group that created new species of fish
A Kentucky State University professor is part of a research group that inadvertently created a new species of fish.
Dr. Ken Semmens, assistant professor of aquaculture, and his colleagues inadvertently created the sturddlefish, a hybrid of the Russian sturgeon and the American paddlefish.
The discovery has garnered international attention in outlets such as the New York Times, CNN, Science Magazine and USA Today. Semmens was recently quoted on aspects of the process in Quanta Magazine.
