A Kentucky State University professor was recently selected as a research ambassador for the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).

Dr. Narayanan Rajendran, professor of molecular microbiology and biotechnology, has been selected as a DAAD research ambassador for the 2019-20 academic year.

The research ambassador program is honoring 21 individuals who have conducted a long-term research project in Germany at the doctoral level or above, according to a DAAD press release.

The research ambassadors recently participated in a two-day seminar addressing the latest developments in German higher education and research, as well as funding opportunities available to North American scientists and academics interested in conducting research in German or through collaborative projects with German colleagues, according to the DAAD release.

“Dr. Rajendran will not only be promoting research in Germany, but will also be representing Kentucky State University on a professional level,” according to the DAAD release.

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is the German national agency for the support of international academic cooperation.
