Kentucky State University student-run arts magazine is now accepting submissions

Kentucky State University’s student-run arts magazine, The Kentucky River, is currently accepting submissions of poetry, short fiction, drama, creative non-fiction and visual art from students, faculty and staff of Kentucky State University.

Rebecca Kinder is this year’s editor. The deadline for submissions is March 25.

Submissions should only be identified by the last four digits of a person’s KSU ID. Submissions should include a separate sheet or cover email, which lists the title of the submission(s), the last four digits of the submitter’s KSU ID, the submitter’s name, phone number and email address. Students should identify themselves on the separate sheet if they wish to be considered for one of the awards.

Please submit no more than three poems and/or two pieces of prose per issue. Visual art submissions should be limited to three pieces.

The Kentucky River awards the Richard Taylor Creative Writing Award to the best student-written piece, poetry or prose, as chosen by a panel of creative writing faculty. The Alexander/Leadingham Visual Art Award is given to the best student visual art piece. Award-winning submissions are identified as such in the issue of The Kentucky River.
