Kentucky State University president to speak at Carter G. Woodson Academy convocation
Kentucky State University President M. Christopher Brown II is a featured speaker for the Carter G. Woodson Academy convocation Sunday, Aug. 12 at First Baptist Church Bracktown in Lexington.
The convocation is scheduled for 5 p.m. First Baptist Church Bracktown is located at 3016 Bracktown Road in Lexington.
Carter G. Woodson Academy is a college preparatory program that serves males in grades 6-12. The Academy provides an advanced and rigorous curriculum that meets the new common core standards through the lens of African-American history, culture and culturally responsive teaching and learning strategies. The Academy offers individual mentoring, after-school and evening tutoring, optional Saturday programming and college, cultural and abroad field trips.
