KSU, Frankfort will spring into action with ReForest Frankfort

Posted on February 23, 2016

ReForest Frankfort is a community-wide event that brings people together to learn more about the benefits of trees and protecting our valuable natural resources. Hundreds of state and local volunteers will plant trees, celebrate Arbor Day and, if they choose, participate in a 4K run. Hosted on Kentucky State University’s campus for the first time, the Frankfort community will dig in and help to plant more than 2,000 trees. The rain-or-shine event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 2 at Old Young Hall.

The Re4est Run for the Trees 4K run will kick off at 8 a.m. Runners must pre-register for the race. The race fee is $20 through March 31 and $25 on April 2.

The first 500 ReForest Frankfort participants will receive a free T-shirt and everyone will enjoy live music and free food, and will be given tree saplings to take home. For those interested in competing to design next year’s T-shirt, please contact dougbeckybishop@gmail.com.
