Regina Stivers, field representative for Sen. Mitch McConnell and legislative assistant, Katelyn Conner visited Kentucky State University on Friday.

The two met with KSU professors, Dr. Kirk Pomper and Dr. Jim Tidwell to learn about the University’s Aquaculture Program. The visit was one of several stops Stivers and Conner will make across the state as they gather information about agricultural advancements and needs in the area.

Stivers and Conner inquired about ongoing research projects and partnerships with farmers markets and asked about the potential for expanding services beyond the Franklin County service area. The visit included a tour of the Aquaculture Production Technology Facility where they met with grad students who shared some of their current projects.
