Statement on off-campus shooting, 1 injured

Kentucky State University confirms that there has been an off-campus shooting involving one of its students.  The Frankfort Police Department is investigating the incident. The KSU student received non-life threatening injuries, and the family is being contacted.

The shooting occurred between 2:15 and 2:45 a.m. today on East Main Street in Frankfort.

The University is cooperating with local authorities regarding the investigation.

The University is conducting its own investigation to ensure the safety of campus. Students and others are strongly encouraged to immediately report ANY suspicious activity to the police. Please contact KSU police at (502) 597-6877.
