It’s not often that the Director of Admissions at a university personally hands a student his or her acceptance letter. But Kentucky State University Director of Admissions, Natasha Murray, is doing just that.Fern Creek High School students pose with KSU gear

Murray surprised six students at Louisville’s Fern Creek High School on Tuesday with acceptance letters to the University. Three of the students admitted were offered scholarships. “It’s a great accomplishment for a student to be admitted to college, and we wanted to do something to make that moment special for them,” she said.

“We have been successful with receiving a large number of applicants from Fern Creek,”  she said, a trend she hopes continues. Murray plans to travel to several additional schools in the area to create the same excitement for other high school students.
