Kentucky State University received approval for $990,000 in state funds for a project to provide mini-grants that will assist small farmers as well as producers with limited resources statewide. Grants will be awarded to applicants in areas related to organic agriculture, value-added products, aquaculture, farmer education and demonstration projects.

The state funds, awarded by the Kentucky Agricultural Development Board, will be distributed over a two-year period. Kentucky State University’s Land Grant Program works with small, limited-resource, and beginning farmers to help provide technical assistance and education.
