In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, Kentucky State University’s College of Agriculture, Food Science and Sustainable Systems has partnered with the Kentucky Commission on Human Rights and other local and state organizations to sponsor the Ninth Annual Hispanic, Immigrant and Refugee Networking Summit on Thursday, Oct. 9, at the Shelby County Extension Office. This event provides an opportunity to network with representatives from different organizations and individuals that work with and serve the Hispanic, refugee and immigrant community of Kentucky.

Registration is free, but an RSVP is needed by Tuesday, Oct. 7 to Juan Pena at juan.pena@ky.gov.

Since 2005, the Kentucky Commission on Human Rights has hosted this statewide networking event. This event is an opportunity to foster mutual understanding and increase communication and collaboration between the federal, state, and local government, educational institutions and the immigrant and refugee communities. Speakers include directors from Latino community centers, Hispanic educators and entrepreneurs, Kentucky refugee agencies, members of the Hispanic media in Kentucky and representatives from federal, state and local government agencies. Topics will cover housing, employment, education, business and other topics.
