Student Spotlight - Asia Scott

Name: Asia Scott

Hometown: Indianapolis, Indiana

Classification: Sophomore

Major: Public Administration

Why Kentucky State? In the fall of 2017, I took a college visit to Kentucky State University and I really enjoyed everything about it – the campus, the atmosphere and even the faculty and staff. Once I left, I felt like this was the place for me. This HBCU has brought me out of my comfort zone, which was definitely what I needed.

What is your major and why did you choose this area of study? My major is public administration, which is something I’m definitely interested in because I know it will help me get closer to my dreams and goals. I also know while majoring in public administration, I’ll be able to possess new qualities and even improve qualities that I already have.

Who inspires you and why? My older cousin inspires me because of his kind heart, open arms and his work ethic. He’s always worked so hard to provide for his family and makes sure we have everything we need.

What do you plan to do when you graduate? After I graduate, I plan to go to graduate school and get my master’s degree in either public administration or higher education.
