Twenty four students tour the Midwest

Twenty-four students recently traveled with Student Support Services on a three-day sojourn to the Show Me State of Missouri and to East St. Louis, Illinois. They experienced tours and panel discussions at St. Louis University Law School and the University of Missouri about graduate school opportunities. The Supreme Court of Missouri administrators provided presentations on their role in court proceedings, and the students visited and shared reflections at the site of the Mike Brown incident in Ferguson, Missouri. One of their hearty meals was enjoyed at Sweetie Pie’s soul food diner, and everyone met and was inspired by the world’s greatest female athlete, Jackie Joyner-Kersee. She personally led the students on a tour of her community center in East St. Louis and expressed gratitude regarding a group visit from Kentucky State University.
