Employee Profile - Meghan V. Pund

Name: Meghan V. Pund

Position: Applied Woodwind Instructor (I teach flute, clarinet and saxophone!)

How long have you been employed at Kentucky State? I just began in the fall semester of 2018.

What do you enjoy most about your role? The thing I enjoy most about my role here at Kentucky State is my ability to help students realize their potential, not only in music, but in life.

What has been one of your favorite moments at Kentucky State? Well, it hasn’t happened yet, but my student, Nicole Jensen, is giving a recital Dec. 4 at 6 p.m. in David H. Bradford Hall Little Theater, and I am really looking forward to the culmination of all of her hard work.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working? When I’m not working, I love to practice and write music. If I’m not doing anything with music, I consider brewing coffee my hobby, so I spend a bit of time researching and practicing that.

What is one thing you couldn’t live without? Music. I get out of bed every day because I look forward to exploring music and learning about it.

A fun fact about me is… I grew up in a town of fewer than 2,000 people… called Santa Claus! It’s in Southern Indiana.
