What year did you graduate from Kentucky State? 2006

What have you been up to since graduation? After graduating from Kentucky State, I taught biology at Franklin County High School for a few years. After that, I completed my doctoral work at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the School of Education. For the past five years, I have been an assistant professor at the University of Texas at Austin in the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy. I live in Austin, Texas with my wife, Brandelyn, and 18-month-old daughter, Riley-Grace.

What is your best memory or memories at Kentucky State? Some of my best memories at Kentucky State include working with amazing staff members across the university and professors in the School of Education and biology department. As well, I have fond memories of creating lifelong friendships with people while at Kentucky State.

What is the most important thing you learned here? I learned many lessons while at Kentucky State, but one of the biggest ones was “enter to learn, go out to serve.”
