Alumni Profile: Wendy Dixie

What year you graduated from KSU: In 1993 with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and then in 2009 with master’s in computer science technology.

What have you been up to since graduation: After graduation, I went to Eastern Kentucky University, where I earned an MBA. After I graduated from EKU, I worked in the information technology department at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky before coming to KSU in October of 2001. Over the years I’ve spent my time volunteering with various organizations, including my sorority, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. I have also been a member of the board of directors for many organizations. I am currently on the board of directors for the Kidney Health Alliance of Kentucky.

Best memory or memories at KSU: I have many fond memories of KSU, from the great education I received, the supportive atmosphere of nurturing faculty and staff, and the lifelong friends I made. All of these things along with the campus activities on “the yard” made my experience at KSU one that I will always cherish.

Most important thing you learned here: It is really difficult to highlight one particular item because my experience at KSU prepared me not only for my career but for life in general. KSU became an extension and reinforcement of the personal and intellectual development initiated by my family and church.
