Asmita Satyal
I am currently enrolled as a graduate student studying for a Master of Science in Environmental Studies program at Kentucky State University. I am working as a Graduate Research Assistant in Centre for Geospatial Intelligence and Environmental Security lab, and my academic as well professional interest lies in applying GIS, Remote sensing to solve environmental challenges and in Climate studies. I hold bachelor’s degree in environmental science from Kathmandu University, Nepal. As an undergraduate thesis I have worked in Assessing
the site-use by Smooth-coated otters in Geruwa River channel, West Nepal. After my graduation I worked on extending my undergraduate
team project which received a grant from WWF, Nepal. As for internship, I did intern at Himalayan Cryosphere Climate and Disaster Research Centre, Kathmandu University back in Nepal.
