  • Verification of graduation from high school or secondary institution
  • Official High School Transcripts/Certificate in English with translation certified
  • All foreign transcripts must be evaluated course by course by an accredited transcript evaluation agency in the United States, such as WES.
  • Nigerian students must submit WASC
  • Official SAT (960)/ACT (18), OR TOEFL (70 iBT), OR IELTS (6.0), OR Duolingo (95). OR evidence of completion of an ESL program
    •    These scores are not  required if:
          1) English is your native/primary/official language
          2) Your degree courses are delivered in English
          3) You have a degree from a U.S. institution or English speaking country
          4) You have completed an English training program, such ESL
  • Conditional Admission: Applicants who meet KSU’s academic requirements for admission but do not meet the minimum language proficiency requirement may be granted conditional admission through KSU International Bridge Pathway and are placed in KSU ESL Program. The duration of these courses will depend on placement test results and individual student progress. Upon successful completion of the English language course(s), the student will move seamlessly into a degree program at KSU. This means no TOEFL/IELTS scores will be required if students complete KSU’s ESL.

Transfer students who have earned 24 or more college-level transferable credit hours must:

  • Have a minimum cumulative college level GPA of 2.0 from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Submit official transcript(s) from each college or universities that have been attended.
  • TOEFL (70 iBT or above), OR IELTS (6.0 or above), OR Duolingo (95 or above) OR evidence of completion of an ESL program
  • All foreign transcripts must be evaluated course by course by an accredited transcript evaluation agency in the United States, such as WES.


Transfer students who have earned less than 24 college-level transferable credit hours must:

  • Meet the same requirements as the first time freshman and have a cumulative 2.0 GPA on college level transferable coursework completed from a regionally accredited institution
  • Freshman requirements:
  • Unweighted cumulative GPA of 2.5 or greater
  • Minimum ACT Composite of 18 or Minimum SAT Total Score of 960
  • TOEFL score (70 iBT or above) OR IELTS (6.0 or above) OR evidence of completion of an ESL program
  • Be eligible to return to the institution from which they are transferring, good academic standing.
  • Submit an official transcript(s) from all the universities/colleges that have been attended.
  • All foreign transcripts must be evaluated course by course by an accredited transcript evaluation agency in the United States, such as WES.
  • Submit an official final high school transcript with the graduation date posted.

  • Official transcripts from the schools that have been attended
  • All foreign transcripts must be evaluated course by course by an accredited agency. We recommend WES for the transcript evaluation report, but also do accept official reports from other approved services. GradCAS lists the services we accept in the application portal.
  • Minimum undergraduate cumulative GPA of 2.50 (some programs requires higher, e.g. MES requires 3.0 or above) or higher on the 4.00 system used in the US.

Application deadline:

  • July 1 for fall enrollment
  • November 15 for spring enrollment

International applicants requires longer processing time, so foreign applicants should complete their applications as early as possible, preferably at least three months prior to prospective enrollment.
