Phi Alpha National Honor Society

The Social Work program offers acceptance into the Phi Alpha National Social Work Honor Society. The purpose of Phi Alpha is to strengthen the bond among students of social work and to promote humanitarian goals and ideals. The honor society invites into membership those who have attained excellence in scholarship and achievement in social work.

There is a one-time membership fee of $40.

Undergraduate Qualifications 

  1. Declared social work as a major
  2. Achieved Sophomore status
  3. Completed 9 hours of social work classes
  4. Overall GPA of 3.0
  5. Achieved a 3.25 GPA in social work classes

Graduate Qualifications 

  1. Successfully completed at least one semester of coursework with a minimum of 6 graduate credits in social work
  2. Achieved a minimum overall grade point average (GPA) of 3.7
