Urban Ag / CEA Lab Activities

The urban / Controlled environment agriculture team work together in our Urban Ag lab to collect data, perform experiments, and provide hands on experience for our students. Students also learn how to create many lab solutions such as hydroponic Hogland soultion for their hydroponic experiments. Additionally, they periodically conduct water quality, EC, and PH testing to ensure plants are grown healthfully. They aim to perform various phyto nutrient, mineral, and water analysis through lab analysis and an HPLC machine in their lab. In the urban lab, they also have a demonstration station where they display how to grow plants in an indoor setting they care for hydroponic crops, perform seed germination, and produce microgreens.
