Meet Your Advising Team
At KSU, advising is a team effort. Depending on where you are in your academic journey, you may work with a professional advisor, faculty coach, or both.
Professional Advisors
Your Professional Advisor is your main point of contact for navigating your KSU experience. They are here to help you understand your academic options, make informed decisions, stay on strack for graduation, and connect you with support when you need it.
Your Professional Advisor can help you:
- Explore your academic program and major
- Understand your academic plan
- Help choose your courses and register
- Help you stay on track
- Connect you with support
- Help you navigate transitions
Faculty Coaches
Once you complete 60 credit hours, you will be assigned a Faculty Coach within your academic major. Your Faculty Coach serves as a secondary advisor and works alongside your professional advisor to provide additional major-specific support.
Your Faculty Coach can help you:
- Explore your academic program and major
- Connect your coursework to career opportunities
- Explore career and professional goals
- Navigate opportunities within your field
- Plan for degree completion and your next steps after KSU
Think of it as having a team in your corner:
Professional Advisor → Your main point of contact for academic planning, progress, registration, and connecting you with KSU resources.
Faculty Coach → Your secondary advisor who provides major-specific guidance and helps you connect your academic program to career and professional goals.
Together, they help you stay on track, make informed decisions, and prepare for what's next.
