Kentucky State University football head coach will step down for position at Air Force Academy
Kentucky State University football head coach Charlie Jackson will step down from his role after accepting a job as the assistant head football coach at his alma mater, the United States Air Force Academy. Jackson began as the Kentucky State football head coach in January 2019 and led the Thorobreds to a 14-7 record through two complete seasons. A recent Kentucky State University alumnus was recently featured in a Bloomberg story about Wall Street hiring from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Kirk L. Miller, former Student Government Association president, was featured as a recent hire of Wells Fargo. Kentucky State University alumnus joins Kentucky Sports Hall of Fame
A notable Kentucky State University alumnus was recently selected to join the Kentucky Sports Hall of Fame (KSHOF). Elmore Smith, member of the 1970 and 1971 NAIA championship men’s basketball teams, joined the KSHOF class of 2021. Smith set a national record for rebounds in 1971 with 799 and averaged 22.3 points per game in his Kentucky State career.
