Mighty Marching Thorobreds to be featured in NBOTB film “The Road to Houston: Preparing to Battle”

The Mighty Marching Thorobreds are one of eight HBCU marching bands featured in the Pepsi National Battle of the Bands (NBOTB) film “The Road to Houston: Preparing to Battle.” The film provides fans a behind-the-scenes look at the band selection process, preparation and performances. The Mighty Marching Thorobreds traveled to Houston, Texas in August of 2022 and performed to a record-setting crowd of 55,000 fans in NRG Stadium.

Promising Youth Center awarded $881,000 grant for afterschool mentoring program

The Kentucky State University Promising Youth Center for Excellence received a $881,000 grant to provide afterschool mentoring for 100 African-American, Hispanic, and Biracial middle school males and females in grades 6-8th.
