Kentucky State Representatives Receive Awards from the Fulbright Program
Kentucky State University is pleased to announce that Interim Associate Vice Provost of Global Strategies and International Affairs, Dr. Eric Yang, has received the 2025-2026 Fulbright HBCU International Education Administrator (IEA) Award.
As part of the HBCU IEA Award, Dr. Yang had the opportunity to attend week long seminars in France and Senegal. The seminars brought together higher education administrators from HBCUs to gain insight into France and Senegal’s higher education systems and explore opportunities for cooperation and academic exchange. The program was designed to help participants build capacity for international education at their campuses, gain cross-cultural perspectives, and collaborate with colleagues and students throughout the world.
“I am deeply honored to be selected for the Fulbright HBCU International Education Administrators Program. This opportunity allowed me to expand Kentucky State University’s global engagement strategies, strengthen partnerships abroad, and bring new international perspectives to our campus community. As we prepare our students to thrive in a global society, I am excited to contribute to KSU’s continued leadership in international education,” said Dr. Yang who also serves as Kentucky State’s Fulbright Scholar Liaison and Fulbright Student Program Advisor.
Professor of Economics, Dr. Abdul Turay, also received the 2025-2026 Fulbright Scholar Award. Fulbright Scholars engage in cutting-edge research and expand their professional networks, often continuing research collaborations started abroad and laying the groundwork for forging future partnerships.
Since 1946, the Fulbright Program has provided over 400,000 talented and accomplished students, scholars, teachers, artists, and professionals with the opportunity to study, teach, and conduct research abroad.
