Whitney Young Honors Scholars Showcase Research at Kentucky State University's Honors Research Symposium

The Whitney Young Honors Collegium (WYHC) at Kentucky State University (KSU) hosted its annual Honors Research Symposium on Friday, May 3, in the Cooperative Extension Building. The event provided a platform for Whitney Young Honors scholars and undergraduate and graduate STEM students to present their research projects to judges and fellow students, showcasing their academic prowess and dedication to scholarly pursuits. 

The WYHC is a prestigious program at KSU that offers selected students an intensified academic and social community. It enhances their college experience with enriched academic courses, co-curricular activities, and special programs across all majors. Students in the program engage in learning experiences that foster intellectual growth, cultural competency, professional and leadership development, civic participation, and global engagement, creating well-rounded individuals prepared to meet the challenges of the 21st century. 

The symposium honors the legacy of Kentucky native and KSU's renowned alumnus, Whitney M. Young, Jr., whose statesmanship, negotiation skills, and commitment to social justice serve as a model for global leadership. KSU students are encouraged to emulate Young's dedication to serving humankind. 

Among the students who presented their research at the symposium were Anthony Osterman, Donavyn Mosley, Keyoncee Washington, Kendyl Smith, Bayleigh Oliver, Naomi Hall, Segen Mussie, Destiny Mullins, Jaylin Greer, Malik Thompson, Shreesha Pandeya,  Samuel Oshikoya, and Dipesh Oli. Their exceptional research contributions reflect the high academic standards of the Honors students at Kentucky State University.
