
Kentucky State University alumnus to keynote Baccalaureate Assembly
Kentucky State University graduate Mario J. Radford '14 will deliver the keynote address at the 2022 Baccalaureate Assembly Thursday, May 12 in Bradford Hall.
A Kentucky native, Radford is the founder and lead pastor of Growth Point Church in Lexington. Most notable for his musical ability, he is also a speaker, podcast host, author, actor, and insurance agent among the many hats he wears.
Radford received his Bachelor of Arts degree in liberal studies from Kentucky State University in 2014, where he also served as the musical director for the Gospel Ensemble and in various other roles throughout his tenure on the Hill.
Radford is the CEO of Mario J. Radford & Co., a company designed to help others embrace their unique design. He authored the inspirational children’s book “What If” and is the host of a podcast called “Uniquely Designed.”
Radford is a member of the Alpha Beta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. where he serves as the communications director. He and his wife have three children and live in Nicholasville, Kentucky.
Dr. James Mable Jr., worship leader at the Crossover Bible Fellowship Church in Houston, Texas, is set to perform at the Assembly.
In January of 2019, Mable inked his first deal with music industry legend promoter/manager Greg “Uncle G” Lyons and Uncle G Records. He released his first official single in July of 2019 entitled "I'm Free." The song charted on the Billboard Gospel Digital Sales Chart at #17 two weeks after it was released and was considered for a Grammy for Best Gospel Performance/Song for the 2020 Recording Academy. Mable recently released his first album entitled, “The Journey 2.0.” He can be seen singing in various venues and denominational settings across the country.
