The 2019 annual meeting of the Kentucky Junior Academy of Science will be held Saturday, April 27 on the campus of Kentucky State University.  This marks the fourth consecutive year that Kentucky State has hosted the event.

The Kentucky Junior Academy of Science is open to any middle or high school science student engaged in scientific research in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. It offers middle- and high-school student scientists an opportunity to present their research project in the format of a 10-minute presentation with slides. Presentations will be judged and category winners chosen by professional members of the Kentucky Academy of Science.

Six grand prize winners will be eligible for support to participate as Kentucky’s delegates and be inducted into the American Junior Academy of Science (AJAS) meeting in February 2020 in Seattle. The AJAS convention meets in conjunction with the National Association of Academies of Science (NAAS) and the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). As the world’s largest multidisciplinary scientific society and a leading publisher of cutting-edge research through its science family of journals, AAAS has members in 91 countries and 258 affiliated societies and academies of science.
