Kentucky State University will offer implicit bias cultural competency training Feb. 20 on its campus.

Edward L. Palmer, chair of the Kentucky Subcommittee on Equity and Justice for All Youth (SEJAY) is the featured presenter.

Sessions are planned from 9 a.m. until noon or 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Hathaway Hall 123. Attendees will include first responders, school counselors, court designated workers, college students, university faculty, mental health clinicians, city officials, juvenile justice professionals and domestic violence advocates.

The training is designed to provide attendees with an overview of the importance of cultural competency and how demonstrating this supports effective decision making while promoting engagement when serving families from a wide variety of backgrounds.
