FRANKFORT — Kentucky State University (KSU) has announced its plan to realign the University’s cabinet for operational effectiveness and growth. KSU President M. Christopher Brown II, Ph.D., has extended offers to fill the executive positions:

Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration: Kevin Appleton, MBA, CPA. Currently, Appleton is the vice president for Administrative Affairs at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.

Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs: Debbie G. Thomas, Ph.D. Dr. Thomas is the dean of Academic Affairs at Capital Community College in Connecticut.

Vice President for Student Engagement and Campus Life: Thomas J. Calhoun, Jr., Ph.D. Most recently, Dr. Calhoun was the president of Chicago State University.

Vice President for Enrollment Management and Brand Identity: Clara Ross Stamps, MBA. Stamps is the vice president for Marketing and Communication at Alcorn State University.

Interim Vice President for Institutional Advancement and Alumni Relations: Rick W. Smith, Sr., MBA. Smith is the interim vice president for External Relations and Development at Kentucky State University.

All permanent hires are expected to report no later than July 5.
