Srijana Kandel
Graduate Research Assistant (MS in Environmental Studies)
Srijana is a master’s student at Kentucky State University in Agronomy Lab under Dr. Chiluwal’s Mentorship. Currently, she focuses on investigating the medium-term effects of biochar on soil properties under Kentucky's soil and environmental conditions. She earned Bachelor’s of Science in Agriculture from Tribhuvan University and Master’s of Science in Agronomy from Agriculture and Forestry University, Nepal. In her master’s degree, she studied the effects of different levels of nitrogen on various wheat genotypes to improve wheat productivity. Before joining KSU, Srijana served as an agriculture officer at the government of Nepal where she closely worked with farmers to promote sustainable crop production and provided technical assistance.
