Lalit Pun Magar

Research Associate (Precision Agriculture)

lpmLalit joined the Agronomy Lab at Kentucky State University in August 2023 as a graduate student pursuing a master’s degree. Throughout his master's research, he explored the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs/drones) equipped with advanced sensors to study morphophysiological traits and yield of soybean. One of his works, in which he integrated UAV-based RGB and LiDAR sensors to estimate plant height in soybean, has already been published in the peer-reviewed journal “Frontiers in Plant Science.” Additionally, his other projects include identifying the most suitable indices and optimal periods for studying morphophysiological traits and yield in soybean using RGB, multispectral, and LiDAR sensors. He graduated in May 2025 and is currently working as a Research Associate in the Agronomy lab at KSU.
