Kentucky State University donated more than 6,600 pounds of produce through its healthy food initiative
Kentucky State University’s Healthy Food Initiative started in 2020 as a way to make sure that produce grown for research did not go to waste. Since then, thousands of pounds of produce have been donated to soup kitchens in the Frankfort area. A trailblazing Kentucky State University alumnus is scheduled to be inducted into the Cave City Chamber of Commerce Hall of Fame. According to a WCLU Radio report, William S. Kentucky State University recently received a grant for nearly $350,000 to help farmers improve water quality.
