Kentucky State University’s Office of Academic Affairs recently unveiled a new professional development initiative.

The initiative, titled From Campus to Community – The KSU Authors Initiative, is an opportunity for faculty to explore how to take high-quality work in teaching, scholarship and service and share it with the larger community.

The offices of the president and the interim provost and vice president for academic and student affairs are hosting a series of brainstorming, conceptualizing and realizing workshops to help faculty grow as authors through print publications, creative compositions and interactive media such as TED Talks and podcasts.

The following events are scheduled for the spring 2019 semester (to take place in Hathaway Hall 419):

Thursday, Feb. 28 – Understanding the IRB Process (Dean A. Christopher Hayden)

Thursday, March 28 – Exploring and Packaging Publishable Topics (Dean F. Erik Brooks and Dr. Scott Wicker)

Thursday, April 25 – Discovering Places to Publish (Sheila Stuckey and Dr. Wilfred Reilly)

Thursday, May 9 – Incorporating Scholarly Activity into the Promotion and Tenure, Renewal and Post-Tenure Review Cycle (Dr. Helen Smith and Dr. Beverly Schneller)
